phobias
A phobia is defined as an irrational, persistent and excessive fear of an object or situations.

Phobias can be specific or generalised.

Specific phobias include irrational fear of spiders, needles, flying, heights and birds.
Specific phobias are generally quite easy to address with Hypnotherapy as they are often cause by clearly outlined individualised events. This is known as an initial sensitising event (ISE)

This event(s) can be identified using timeline techniques if they are not remembered and procedures can then be used to remove the subconscious need to respond to that specific trigger in an irrational, fearful manner.

Generalised phobias such as social anxiety, agoraphobia or fear of commitment (relationship, work or other) may need different techniques to resolve as they may not be caused by singular or specific events, rather an accumulation of events, emotional responses or beliefs over a period of time.

Often these phobias may need root cause/belief change-work to deal with deeper issues such as low self-esteem, fear of rejection and more complex anxiety disorders.
