ANXIETY

Anxiety is not something that is 'happening' to you, it is something you are doing.

These outcomes are responses from the messages and commands received and sent from your unconscious mind.

This area of your mind is outside of your conscious control; so together let's access it subconsciously and give you back your power!

Anxiety is an incredibly prevalent condition in today’s society and most people suffer from it to some extent.

Modern Psychology can help to give you the tools and reprogram you beliefs to empower and enable you to move through life without the need to react with an anxiety response.

From an evolutionary and survival perspective our brains are hard-wired to be alert for incoming danger.

At the first signs of danger a branch of our nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system stimulates our body’s fight-flight-or freeze response.

This is what causes our physical symptoms; our brain is preparing our bodies to do what is necessary to survive.

Unfortunately with anxiety conditions the unconscious mind now perceives triggers that are no danger to us as a reason to hyper-stimulate this branch of the nervous system causing unwanted anxiety and physical and emotional responses.

The sympathetic response is unconscious and therefore can be very hard to control on a conscious level with rational thought or conscious tools.

For this reason working with the unconscious mind can have great success when dealing with anxiety.

Together we can work to unpack your unconscious programs and remove the need for fear or worry from situations that it is not necessary.

Hypnotherapy is able to help identify the unconscious beliefs, learned behaviors, unhealthy coping mechanisms and ingrained programming quite often passed down from parents or role models, as well as the triggers that cause the anxiety and work towards changing or replacing these.

​

Hypnosis can also integrate the conscious knowledge and tools you already hold to combat anxiety in to the programming of the subconscious mind so that they become automatic and natural.

 

It must also be noted that often to get change you must change. This is very true if you are someone who is creating an environment that fuels you anxiety through factors such as poor diet, lack of exercise or drug/alcohol use.

If this is the case no amount of external help will be able to truly shift your anxiety without these factors being addressed. This is something we can identify and work towards during our sessions if required.
